LAS VEGAS, NV: Cyril Reed Petersen, of Las Vegas, passed away October 23, 2006 at the age of 86. Cyril was born on July 1, 1920 in Hyrum, Utah to Algernon and Leah D. Petersen. He loved being raised in Hyrum and the Hardware Ranch. He attended South Cache High School and later graduated from business college in Boise, Idaho. He served honorable in the Navy during WWII.

He married Inez Jensen on August 2, 1946 and is survived by his wife Inez, sons Jimmy (Linda) and Jeffery (Kathy), several grand children, sister Helen (Art), brothers Richard (LaDawn) and Marcus (DeLane). He retired from the Operating Engineers and UNLV student services at the age of 85. He was an active member of the LDS church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm in the Allen-Hall Mortuary. There will be a viewing Friday evening from 6-8 pm and one hour prior to services on Saturday. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery with military honors.
