Andy J was preceded in death by his father in 1910, his infant daughter (Ethel 1891 - unknown where she is burried), infant daughter (Lucy E Phillips 1896) infant son (Charles Chester 1900), and son (William Bryan - who died in WWI 1918).

At the time of his death his estate was worth about $5100 personal property and real property of $4000. Debt against the estate was about $600.
Per his obituary he was born near Bronson, Kansas on 13 March 1854. He had been in failing health for sometime but died from appendicitis, having had it for four days. He was survived by his wife, Sarah, and children Edith, Dora, Minnie, Elmer, George, and Floyd - all of whom were living at home except for Floyd.
