CONCORD -- Mr. Ballard, age 78, of 2868 Joe Bost Rd., Concord, died Friday, August 29, 2003 at his residence.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Cold Springs United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Randy Wall, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Ballard family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Saturday evening at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
Mr. Ballard was born March 12, 1925 in Cabarrus County, NC son of the late James Ballard and Josie Cannup Ballard. He was a member of Cold Springs United Methodist Church. He was retired plant supervisor at UNCC Charlotte. A World War II US Army Veteran, serving in the Battle of The Bulge and receiving a Bronze Star.
He is survived by his wife Fannie Scott Ballard; son, Jerry Ballard and wife Brenda Kale Ballard of Concord; daughter, Judy Fisher and husband Eddie Fisher of Concord; brothers, Kenneth Ballard of Stanfield, and Jimmy Ballard of Jacksonville, FL; sisters Mary Alice Love of Concord, and Evelyn Aldridge of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter, Anne-Marie Key of Mooresville; and great granddaughter, Mary Katherine Key.
