Peggy Joyce Kelleher, 79, passed away on June 13, 2009, after a brief illness in Klamath Falls, Ore.
Her ashes were interred in her father's plot at Klamath Memorial Park. At her request there were no funeral services, but a private family closure was held.
Peggy was born on Aug. 8, 1930, in Ulysses, Kan., the second of three daughters born to Nicholas Frank Book and Beatrice Arlene Stone Book.
The family lived in Kansas until moving in 1940 to Klamath Falls, where her maternal grandparents lived. In 1942, the Book family moved to Berkeley, Calif., where her father worked in the shipyards building Liberty Ships during World War II.
In 1947, the family returned to Klamath Falls and settled there again. Peggy graduated from Klamath Union High School.
She married John A. Kelleher in 1954. The marriage ended in divorce and Peggy moved to Klamath Falls, where her son was born.
After her son married, she lived and worked in Olympia, Ellensburg, Kennewick, Monroe and Walla Walla in Washington, Phoenix, Ariz., and then back to Klamath Falls until her passing.
Notes: Peggy married John Arthur Kelleher 6/26/1954 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. They had one son. They divorced in Montana in 1955.
