As a matter of common practice in early New England town records, following the death of Peter Robinson senior in 1740, his grandson, Peter Robinson 3rd, became known as Peter Robinson, Jr. On Nov. 13, 1755 at Windham, Peter Robinson 3rd, now called Jr., m. his 1st cousin Abigail Palmer, b. Mar. 25, 1733 at Windham, dau. of Elihu Palmer and Abigail Robinson, latter the sister of Peter's father. Abigail was bapt. at the Windham Church Apr. 1, 1733. She is specifically identified in the will of Abiah (Robinson) Andrus, Abigail's then oldest living maternal aunt, in which Abiah left bequests to her four half-sisters and Abigail "Robardson," wife of half-nephew,"Peter Robardson, Jr."
Abigail (Palmer) Robinson was the mother of all six of her husband's known children, and d. Sept. 25, 1774 at Windham, Conn. She is interred with a standing gravestone to the immediate right of her father-in-law, Peter Robinson, Jr., at the old Scotland Cemetery (North) at present-day Scotland, Conn.
On Mar. 14, 1775 at Windham, the widower Peter Robinson, 3rd m. 2) "Sarah West," from the Town of Tolland, Conn. Two recently uncovered Rev. War pension files in Vermont are highly suggstive that Sarah was Sarah nee Strong, the widow of Francis West of Tolland, Conn. Her dau. Sarah West m. Peter Robinson 3rd's nephew Asher Robinson. There are no recorded children by this second marriage.

• i. Rosamond Robinson, b. Aug. 26, 1756, d. Mar. 14, 1849 at Windham; m. Nathan Wales of Windham.
• ii. Rhoda Robinson, b. Apr. 25, 1761, d. in infancy Nov. 19, 1763; buried at Palmertown Cemetery at present-day Scotland, Conn.
• iii. Arad Robinson, b. Dec. 23, 1762, d. of smallpox July 16, 1776; interred at Palmertown Cemetery at Scotland, Conn. with an inscription on his sister Rhoda's gravestone.
• iv. Peter Robinson, 4th, b. May 15, 1766, d. July 2, 1830 at Franklin, Conn.; m. Polly Taylor.
• v. Patrick Robinson, b. Apr. 7, 1768; resided at Franklin, Conn.; m. Sophia Backus.
• vi. Abigail Robinson, b. Aug. 8, 1772; no further record.
