James "Jim" Lora Curtis, Sr. was the son of George Henry and Anna Alberta Coleman Curtis.
He attended the University of Nebraska and was a graduate of Colorado A & M College at Fort Collins, CO. He was a member of the Olive Branch Lodge No. 32 A.F. and A.M. and a member of Al Kaly Shrine of Southern Colorado Consistory.
He married Margaret Fair, daughter of Edward and Esther Butler Fair, on March 26, 1925 in Saguache, Colorado. They had one son, James Lora Curtis, Jr. After Jim, Sr. died, Margaret married Lloyd Andrews in 1980.
