The remains of Mr. Obadiah G. Towson, who died in Philadelphia on Monday, while on a visit to his son, Charles R. Towson, were brought to Baltimore and interred in Greenmount Cemetery. Rev. W. Forney, of Wilson Memorial Baptist Church, Walbrook, conducted the funeral services.
Mr. Towson was a direct descendant of William Towson, the first settler at Towson, after whom the town is named.
He was prominently connected with Baptist Church work. In Calvary Church, he once had charge of a class of boys, nearly all of whom later became clergymen.
Mr. Towson, at one time, was largely engaged in lime burning and farming. He leaves a widow, Lydia, three sons, James, Charles and Emory and a daughter, Mary T.
