He married Wanda Marie Peterson May 5, 1948, in Tonapa, Nevada. They were later divorced. He later married Laurel Kay Fausett November 29, 1969, in Elko, Nevada.
Dean is survived by his wife, Laurel; his children: Stephen Dean (Donna) Lowe, Diana Marie (Jack) Peterson, Roger Alan (Teresa) Lowe, Karen (David) Morrell and Sherry Lynn (John) Kohler; his brother: Kenneth E. (Ruth) Lowe and his sisters: Mary Joyce (Harry) Hennissey and Jenny (Earl) Prothero; 20 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marlin Ralph (Dorothy) Lowe.
Burial was May 3, 1999.
