Jennie Lowe Sorrells Prothero

On Dec 9th 2012, Jennie Lowe Sorrells Prothero, beloved wife and loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She lost the battle to recover from a broken pelvis. She wanted to recover so she could go play BINGO with us and all of her bingo buddies. Her efforts were inspiring; she tried so hard an was so determined. Ultimately she had a stroke that changed her bingo plans. We could not be more proud of her and all the efforts that she made. She was a tough cookie and stubborn as a mule, as her parents used to say.

She was born in Provo, UT to Glen "Penney" and Villa Underwood Lowe on Dec. 13th 1931. She lived in her home town, Springville, UT. On July 25, 1952 she met and married William "Bill" Oren Sorrells. Together they had five children. They later divorced. She met Earl Jay Prothero, a rancher and retired firefighter. They married on Sept. 23, 1983. She was a librarian at the Springville public library.

Together they retired and resided on this ranch in Fairview, UT. They enjoyed traveling, and spent many years in retirement traveling. Eventually falling in love with the small town of Quartzsite, AZ. They got themselves a little place and enjoyed several more years of snow birding between homes, until deciding to become permanent resident of Quartzsite, AZ in 2004.

She is survived by her devoted husband Earl Jay Prothero, her 5 children: Sheila (Raymond) Peterson, William (Candance) Sorrells, DeeAnn Kaufmann, Penny Jo (Victor) Hatch, and Roy Scott Sorrells, 5 step-children: Lee Ann (Wayne) Shepard, Maureen (Denis) Seamons, Lynn Prothero, Karen (Robin) Ewell, Julie (Mark) Moulten, 12 grandchildren, 19 Great grandchildren, 20 step grandchildren, and 35 step great grandchildren, one brother: Ken (Ruth) Lowe, one sister: Joyce (Harry) Hennesy, and two sisters-in-law: Dorthy Lowe and Wanda Wing. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Marlin Lowe, Dean Lowe, and her twin brother who died at birth, Jimmy Lowe. three grandchildren: Shawna Lynn Sorrells, Jewell Ann Shupe and Daniel Aaron Shupe, and ex-husband Wild Bill.

Death leaves heartache, no one can heal but love leaves memories no one can steal.

Remembering you is easy, we do it every day, missing you is the heartache that never goes away. You are in our thoughts everyday. We will miss you and love you forever. Momma, you will be dearly missed.

Due to her wishes there will be no public memorial services held.
