Ambroise Ancelet, Jr., 85, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at his home in Port Arthur.

Ambroise was a veteran of the United States Army. He fought in World War II where he was injured and received the Purple Heart Medal. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 797 and he retired from Gulf Oil Refinery as an operator.

Ambroise is preceded in death by his father, mother and 12 siblings.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Lena Ancelet; nieces, Bertha Matt, Ann Foreman, Peggy Powell, Ginger Moore, Mabel Dodson, Etta Broussard, Enola Melancon and Eve Dell Dugas; nephews, Emery Prejean, Vernon Dugas, Hubert Dugas, Ravis Ancelet and John Crochett; numerous great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be from 5:00PM to 8:00PM, Thursday, January 1, 2004 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be Friday, January 2, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at Grammier-Oberle Chapel with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospitality Center, 3959 Gulfway Dr., Port Arthur, Texas 77642.
