Oct.09, 2009 -- Mrs. Helen Yates, 90, of Vidalia died Friday, October 09, 2009. Mrs. Yates was born in Treutlen County and was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Abbie Miller Cromartie; husbands, Floyd H. Smith and Clyde A. Yates; niece, Lagail Davidson. She was a retired Teacher and member of Belmont Baptist Church, Nashville, TN.
Survivors include nieces, Laurianne Pullen and Laurianne McDonald both, of Soperton, Suzanne Ingrain and Helen Foy both of Statesboro.
Graveside services will be in Westview Cemetery, Soperton at 10:30 Saturday morning, October 10, with the Rev. George Grimes officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Lothair United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o Donna Shurling 745 Ginger Springs Rd., Soperton, GA 30457.
