Mrs. Inez C. Gillis, age 78, of Vidalia, died Saturday morning in the Meadows Memorial Hospital of Vidalia after a long illness. A native of Treutlen County, she had lived in Vidalia most of her life. She was a member of the Vidalia Chapter No. 281, Order of the Eastern Star; the Vidalia Senior Citizens Club and the First Baptist Church of Vidalia.
Mrs. Gillis is survived by: a daughter, Mrs. Freddie G. Threlkeld of Newnan; a son, Charles E. Gillis, Jr. of Vidalia; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Thigpen and Mrs. Laura Hall, both of Soperton, and Mrs. Clyde Yates of Nashville, Tennessee; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gillis were held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 from the Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Grady M. Roan officiating. Interment was in the Pinecrest Cemetery in Vidalia.
