He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Services were held at the Steele Methodist Church July 16 at 2 p.m. Rev. Charles Miller, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated. He was assisted by the Rev. James McCrary, pastor of First Baptist Church.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pall bearers were Harvel Davis, Robert Nicholas, Bert Poteet, Cecil Barnes, Clarence Poteet, and Harry Burton, Jr.
Mr. Griffin leaves a half-brother, Henry Griffin of Philadelphia, a nephew, Cecil Campbell and a niece, Mrs. Ludie Ray of Steele.
