She was born June 20, 1928, in Waterbury, daughter of the late William and Mary (Tolvaisa) Wisackas Stenous. A lifelong Waterbury resident, she graduated from St. Joseph Parochial School and Wilby High School. She worked at the Anamet Company where she retired from the secretarial and accounting departments.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church and Lithuanian American Catholic Women's Society. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and adored her three grandchildren. She loved to knit while watching the Boston Redsox and UConn basketball. She also made many charitable contributions, and was proud of her Lithuanian heritage.
She is survived by two daughters, Marilyn and her husband, Robert Bartkus, of Watertown, Debra Carlotto of Waterbury; three grandchildren, Stephen, Allison and Lauren; her loving pet, Princess; and a stepsister, Leigh Stanley of Summerfield, Fla.
The funeral will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, from Deliniks-Conway Funeral Home, 17 Congress Ave., to St. Joseph Church for a Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
