Reagan, Dorothy (77 years, 9 mos., 3 days) 6 Jan 1880
D/O Israel and Lydia Gilbert Chandler (Sister to Eunice Chandler Gilbert,
married John C Reagin in Newberry SC)
W/ODorothy Chandler Reagin was the daughter of Israel Chandler and Lydia Gilbert. She was born in Newberry County, SC. There is some discrepancy as to her birthdate based on what the Chandler Family Bible says and what her tombstone says (if it was transcribed properly). I'm going to go with what is in the Bible and assume the tombstone was difficult to read.

File Box V Filed February 6, 1884

John R. Reagin & Others vs. Joe S. Edmundson & Others

Compainants represented to this Court that JOHN C. REAGIN died, intestate, in Giles County in the year 1844. Mr. REAGIN left surviving his widow, DOROTHY, and the following chiildren as his heirs: DEMARIOUS who married LUKE T. INMAN lived in Lawrence County, Tennessee, LODUSKA who married _____ SUGGS, died in 1869, intestate, and no children, MERTICE who died, intestate, in 1864 never having been married, DRAYTON, L.Z. and JOHN K(sic). L.Z. died before this Court Case 1884 but was living in 1870.

********

Contrary to what you see in the above court record, L.Z. was alive and well in 1884. He was still living in Giles County with his family in 1880, and can be found in the Kaufman Co., TX census after that.
