Born in Centerville September 2, 1904, he was the son of Jesse Porter and Ann Abbott Gooding. They both preceded him in death.
He was married to Olive Wright December 11, 1926, at Unionville, Mo. He was a retired coal miner.
Surviving are his wife, Olive, one son, Delbert of Denver, Colo.; one daughter, Mrs. Frances Henderson, Kansas City City, Mo.; and a brother, Leslie Gooding, Kansas City, Mo.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Centerville, with burial in Oakland Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the cancer or heart fund.
