Jesse Porter Gooding, 84, long time resident of Centerville community, passed away Friday, June 6, 1952, at St. Joseph’s hospital where he had been a patient for the past eight days.

Mr. Gooding was born April 14, 1867, at Macon, Mo. He was united in marriage January 21, 1907? to Anna Abbott, who preceded him in death June 30, 1948.

He is survived by two sons, Jesse A. of Centerville and Lenne A. of Kansas City. There are two grandchildren, Alberbert Gooding of Des Moines and Frances Henderson of Kansas City.

There are five great-grandchildren.

Two brothers survive and are Allen Gooding, of Clarence, Mo., and Monroe Gooding of Macon, Mo.

His wife Anna preceded him in death.

He leaves a sister Mrs. James Hicks of Macon, Mo.

Funeral services will be held from Johnson Funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday and burial will be in the Oakland cemetery. Rev. George Kendrick of Des Moines, will officiate.

The family requests that there be no flowers.
