MARY ANASTASIA GARCIA, 89, of Del Norte, died under Hospice care Jan. 23, 2006 at Casa Illuminaria in Del Norte.
She was born May 22, 1916 in Yellowstone, Colo., to Jose Cresencio and Luciana Lucero Naranjo.
Mary enjoyed the time she spent with her loving family, being involved with her societies at church, fishing, crocheting, hiking, walking and traveling.
Her husband, Fidel Eugene Garcia Jr. (May 23, 1980); son, Isaac R. Garcia (Feb. 6, 1990); granddaughter RoxieAnn Garcia (March 17, 1978); three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, Fidel Eugene Garcia III of Odenton, MD., Casey J. (Barbara) Garcia of Sierra Vista, AZ, Frankie T. Garcia Sr. of Westminster and Philip C. (Julie) Garcia of Colorado Springs; one daughter, Marie V. (Gaspar) Abeyta of Colorado Springs; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Garcia of Monte Vista; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Ernestine Baca of Del Norte; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, at Holy Name of Mary Church in Del Norte. The Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at the same church with burial following in the Del Norte Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Romero Funeral Chapel in Monte Vista, which is directing arrangements.
