Funeral services for Mr. Halvard Hvinden, 70, were conducted from the Viking Lutheran Church on Friday, 24 Sep 1965 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Elmo Anderson and Rev. E. A. Stousland officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery in block 3 plot 59. Mr. Hvinden passed away early Tuesday morning, 21 Sep 1965, in the Maddock Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since Jan of 1964. Casket bearers were Melvin Gunderson, Orville Vinnard, Gordon Lynne, Hjalmer Nelson, Harley Vinnard and Arthur Nelson. Halvard Hvinden was born on 25 Feb 1895 the son of Andreas and Martha Hvinden in Norway Lake Township in northern Wells County, ND. He attended public schools in the Norway Lake Township area and had always lived and farmed in this area. He had never married. Surviving are one brother, Gustav, of Maddock and five nieces and five nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Mrs. Ole (Annie) Bergsgaard, Ingeborg Hvinden and twin sisters: Ida Hvinden and Clara Hvinden.
