VALLEY, AL -- Mr. John William Hudmon, 69, of Valley died Wednesday, 24 Apr 2002 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, GA.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, 26 Apr 2002 at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley, AL with Rev Stanley Duke officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Huguley, AL.
Mr. Hudmon is survived by his wife, Patsy Ingram Hudmon; two daughters, Jenny (Sonny) Cantrell of Valley, AL and Kathy (Karl) McMichael of Newnan, GA; two sons, Jeff Hudmon of Valley, AL and David Hudmon of Beulah, AL; his sister, Annie Beth Edge of Valley, AL; 10 grandchildren, Sasha Schallock of Opelika, AL; Michael Colley Jr. and Jenna Colley, both of Valley, AL; Brandy McMichael of Columbus, GA; Erik McMichael of Newnan, GA, Matt Bryant, Jacob Hudmon of Dothan, AL, William Austin Hudmon of Beulah, AL and Laura French and Heather French, both of LaGrange, GA; and one great-grandchild, Emily Schallock of Opelika, AL.
Born 10 Jul 1932 in Chambers County, AL, Mr. Hudmon had retired from West Point Stevens where he was a plant engineer at the Dunson Mill in LaGrange, GA. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Mr. Hudmon was the son of the late Josie Ledbetter Hudmon and Cecil Lee Hudmon.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Lung Association in his memory.
The family will receive friends Thursday, 25 Apr 2002 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, AL.
