Seraphina C. Wheeler was the daughter of Gardner and Clarissa (Bliss) Wheeler of Greenwich, Massachusetts. When she died she left a six-year-old daughter and a son who would not have his mother when he turned five less than two weeks later with her bereaved husband. She was an eighth generation descendant of William White who was a passenger in 1620 on the ship Mayflower. The marker at Mountain View Cemetery included the names of her husband and her son's daughter, Floy E. (Brown) Carrier, as well as her son's first born son, Clarence M. Brown.
