LOGAN, UTAH: Norman O. Wahlstrom, age 88, of Adams Twp. PA, formerly of Kaysville and Logan, UT died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at Sunrise Assisted Living, Adams Twp., PA.

Norman was born January 22, 1918 in Laketown, UT, he was the eighth of eleven children born to the late Nelphi & Annis (Weston) Wahlstrom.

Norman married Mary Alice Sheehan on May 31, 1950 and had five children.

Norman was a retired Colonel in the US Air Force with 30 years of dedicated service. During WWII he was a B24 pilot flying missions in the South Pacific Theater and the Berlin Airlift. He also served in Korea. During his distinguished career he received numerous commendations.

After retirement from the Air Force, he moved his family to Logan Utah. He graduated from Utah State University and then was employed there as Director of Veteran Affairs. He served two terms in the Utah State House of Representatives (1977 – 1981) and also served six years as a Logan City Councilman (1981 – 1987).

Norman was active in the LDS church and was a sealer in the Los Angeles and Logan Temples.

He is survived by four sons, Norman O. Wahlstrom Jr. (Margaret) of Kaysville, UT, Michael O. Wahlstrom of West Linn, OR, Phillip A. Wahlstrom of Las Vegas, NV and Scott E. Wahlstrom (Kaye) of Cranberry Twp., PA; a brother, Elmer Wahlstrom of Sacramento, CA; two sisters, Edna Early of Montpelier, ID and Agnes Petersen of Ely, NV; also 16 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Sheehan Wahlstrom & daughter Carolyn Ann Beug, both of whom died on Sept. 11, 2001 at the World Trade Center; also 3 brothers, Stanley, Louis & Owen Wahlstrom & 4 sisters, Lola Johnson, Ruby Kearl, Julia Neal & Noriene Kerr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at the Lundstrom Park Ward (1260 North 1600 East)with a viewing one hour prior to services.

Burial with full military honors will follow the funeral service in the Logan City Cemetery, Memorial donations may be made to LDS Humanitarian Aid Fund, 15 E. South Temple, 2nd Fl. East, Salt Lake City, UT 84150. Condolences and memories may be sent to the family at Allen Mortuaries Arrangements by Allen-Hall Mortuary.
