William Floyd Sapp was born July 25, 1896 in Moulton, Lawrence County, Alabama to William Newton Sapp and Alpha Jane Jones Sapp. ~ In the World War I Draft Registration of June 5, 1918, he was described as tall, medium build with light brown eyes and black hair. He was a 21-year-old resident of Route 3, Albany, Alabama, at the time and was working on the farm of David Bullard. ~ His wife was Lutie Cottongim Sapp. ~ His second wife was Cora Obie Bates Sapp. ~ William F. Sapp

DECATUR - William Floyd Sapp, 82, of Route 3, Decatur, died Monday at Flint Nursing Home. The funeral was to be today at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Burial was to be in the Johnson Cemetery with Shelton Funeral Home directing. The Rev. Hollis Phillips was to officiate.

Survivors include a son, Alvie Sapp of Decatur; a daughter, Mrs. Virgie Long of Hammond, Ind.; a brother, Sam Sapp of Decatur; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
