George W. Etter, fifty-seven, of 243 West Frederick street, died at six o'clock this morning in St. Joseph's hospital of pneumonia. He was born in Lancaster, a son of the late George and Mary Mishler Etter. He was a member of the Reformed church, Loyal Order of Moose, No. 299; P.O.S. of A., Lancaster Aerie, No. 84, Order of Eagles. His wife, Elizabeth Murr Etter, has been deceased for fourteen years. He is survived by the following: a son, Harry M., of Hershey; three daughters, Alberta, wife of Charles Kroplesky; Evelyn, wife of Benjamin Bowman, and Mildred, wife of Leo Harr, of Lancaster. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Christian, Philip, Louisa, wife of Harry Little; Mary, Anna, wife of Frank R. Fritsch, all of Lancaster; Mrs. Katherine Shay, of Philadelphia, and Margaret, wife of Roy McComsey, of Brooklyn; also nine grandchildren. (Lancaster New Era - Jan 6, 1933)
