Miss Fannie Acree, age 90, died at the Gordon County Hospital Friday morning at 1:20 o'clock from injuries sustained in a fall at her home.

Miss Acree fell while doing her household chores on Saturday, April 3. She was in good health at the time of the accident.

Born at Cuthbert on December 6, 1863, Miss Acree was the daughter of Albin and Martha Acree and moved to Gordon County immediately after the Civil War. She had lived in the Hill City and Calhoun communities since that time.

Miss Acree was the oldest member of the Hill City Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

A large crowd attended the last rites for Miss Acree. The officiating ministers paid high tribute to the Christian life of service which she had lived.

Miss Acree is survived by her brother, R.F. Acree, of Calhoun; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held from Hill City Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. H.E. Holland, the Rev. Solon C. Couch and the Rev. Jack Richardson officiating. Music was furnished by the church choir. Great nephews served as pallbearers.

Burial was in the family lot at Hill City with Combs Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
