John Watson Dean was born in Juniata Twp, the oldest child of Bertrand Luden and Caroline (Yocum) Dean. His mother died when he was 8 & he initially lived with his father and siblings on the farm of his grandparents (Thomas & Lydia (Ridenour) Dean. He married Annie Prough July 29, 1886 in Huntingdon County. To this union 7 children were born: Jackson Luden, Thomas Grant, Harry E, Della Mae, Clyde A, Louis Burkett & Pearl C who died at a young age.
John Watson was a carpenter like his father. He died in 1937. Funeral services were at Brown's funeral parlor with the Rev. George F. Boggs officiating.
