Margaret Letcher "Maggie" (Williams) Wells was born on 8 Mar 1861 in Franklin Co., KY to Jacob and Catherine C (Mueller) Williams. After the death of her mother in 1876, Maggie's older sister, Mildred Carlton "Minnie," who was the new bride of Josiah Hazen Shinn, took Maggie and her three younger siblings to raise.

Maggie married James Webster Wells on 2 Jan 1885 in the home of her brother-in-law, JH Shinn in Magnolia, AR.

Maggie and James' son, Raymond Wyatt Wells, is buried in the same cemetery. Their son, Homer Franklin Wells, is buried in Ft Leavenworth, KS.

For anyone looking at the gravestone, and thinking of send a correction on the year of birth, please don't. Her birth record says, as does the family record, that she was born on 8 Mar 1861. The gravestone is incorrect.
