Dentist Dies

DR. WILL H. TROUT EXPIRES, PRACTICED IN CITY 48 YEARS

Served As Treasurer Of Auto Club Since 1909, Also Was City Councilman.

Dr. Will H. Trout, seventy-two, who practiced dentistry in the city for 48 years, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at his home, 427 W. Orange St., after an illness of five years. Dr. Trout was a charter member of the Lancaster Automobile club and served as its treasurer since 1909. Only last month he was reelected to the post at the annual election. He was the oldest officer of the club in point of service. During the administration of the late Mayor Musser, Dr. Trout served as a member of city council.

STUDIED AT MILLERSVILLE

Born in East Hempfield township, a son of the late George S. and Barbara Alice Hess Trout, he attended the Millersville Normal school in 1887 and 1888. During the summer of 1888 he took up the study of dentistry with Dr. Martin H. Musser. In the autumn of 1888 he entered the University of Pennsylvania and graduated in May, 1890, with a D. D. S. degree. The same year he started practice in this city and except for a short time had his office at 18 South Duke street. He practiced here until two years ago when illness forced him to retire. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal church, the Lancaster B. P. O. E., and Royal Arcanum. He was also a member of the Harris Dental society and served as its treasurer for many years until he resigned due to ill health several years ago.

PREPARED OBITUARY MATERIAL

Much of the material for Dr. Trout's obituary was included in papers found among his possessions. Besides his widow, the former Anna Katharine Garrecht, whom he married in 1892, he is survived by the following children: Alice K., wife of Herman D. Diehl, Indiana, Pa.; Mrs. Elizabeth L. Fox, Pittsburgh; Louella, wife od Andrew J. Heidig, Lancaster; George S., Lancaster; and Katherine L., wife of E. T. Anderson, Allentown; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.These brothers and sisters also survive: Charles H., Lancaster; Mrs. Susan Forrey and Miss Alice Barbara Trout, both of Mountville; Myrtle, wife of Frank Dombach, and Frank G., both of Landisville.
