My Aunt Leoncia was a sweetheart, who fell in love with my Uncle Jack Bates, my grandmother's beloved brother. Leoncia came all the way from Mexico, though I don't know from where exactly. She and Jack would speak Spanish to each other all the time. Leoncia made beautiful dolls, for which she was well known. She made a special Raggedy Andy doll for me back around 1980, which I still have, although I think one of his little felt shoes is missing. I met her once in 1978, although I barely remember the visit. But she was a wonderful part of my family, well loved by all.
