Adelinda Meinzen, 85, wife of the Rev. William C. Meinzen, died at 6 a.m. yesterday at the Lutheran Old People's Home in Kendallville, after a long illness.
Mrv. & Mrs. Meinzen recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Meinzen was a native of Grand Rapids. She resided in Indianapolis before moving to Fort Wayne in 1943. She and her husband, who retired from the ministry in 1943, had been residing at the Kendallville home the past year and a half.
While here they were members of the Peace Lutheran Church.
Surviving besides the husband are four sons, Lt. Col. Lawrence W. Meinzen, Oakland, Calif.; the Rev. Erwin Meinzen, in India; the Rev. Richard C. Meinzen, Canton, Ohio; and Alfred Meinzen, Fort Wayne; four daughters, Mrs. Arthur Felscher, Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Ralph Bernecker, Saginaw, Mich.; and Mrs. Arthur Amt, Wausau, Wis.; a brother, Martin Daib, Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Wyneken, Santa Monica, Calif.; and Miss Lydia Daib, Kendallville; 19 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Rodenbeck Funeral Home, with the Rev. Hartwig Schwehn officiating. Burial will be in Concordia Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Saturday.
