Allesandro Christiano, 92, son of the late Carlo and Rosia Christiano, who was born on March 14, 1919 in Maybrook, NY, died on Monday, September 21, 2009 in Surprise, AZ after a short illness.

Retired from the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad and Con Rail in 1977 after 41 years of service, Sam was also treasurer of the Rock Tavern Rod & Gun Club, Maybrook, NY, and secretary and treasurer of the Maybrook Historical Society. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. For many years he entertained at family gatherings with his Gibson Guitar and his country western music. He was a devoted husband, loving father and wonderful grandfather and great grandfather. He was a "gentle" man who lived a full life. He has gone home and is at peace.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Doris Mildred Brown Christiano who he married on January 1, 1938 at the Church of the Assumption, Maybrook, NY. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Milt Gialinas of Surprise, AZ; granddaughters, Laura (Hennessy) and her husband, Brad Worsfold of Montgomery and Lisa Brua and her husband, Kyle of Maple Grove, MN; great-grandchildren: William Hennessy of Montgomery, Erik and Jacob, Megan and Nicole Brua of Maple Grove, MN.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving daughter, Joyce Christiano Baranowski; his brother, Augustine; sisters, Lena Delessio and Theresa Boat; and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly and spoke lovingly of throughout his live.

A funeral mass will be held today, Thursday, September 24, at St. Clare of Assisi R.C. Church, Surprise, AZ.
