Lewis was the son of William Lewis and Martha Jane Brown Colman. He retired from Butter Nut Baking Company in Palestine. He shares a stone with his wife, Addie Lee Callaway Coleman, who he married 19 November 1913 in Anderson County. Their son, Leroy Claude Coleman, is buried in Roselawn Park. He was residing in Palestine at the time of his death.
