The daughter of Calvin Newton Davis and Laura Jane Cox, she was the third of ten children. She was a homemaker and member of the Pond Mountain Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leonard Lee Hurley of Ashe County, John Littlewood of Ashe County and Milton Vernon Bryan of Sarasota, Florida. She was survived by one son and one daughter; three sisters, Nora Hurley, Ruth Little and Geneva Absher; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
