She was born in Sacramento county, Calif. Mov.18,1866, as was Louisa Frances Randleman. She lived on the ranch where she died since 1906. Mrs. Barklow saw much of Coos county development from wild, unsettled country. Friends report she was a true pioneer wife, mother and neighbor, taking care of the sick and the dead in her community when need arose.
Four of her eight children who survive are: Walter Barklow, Coquille; Erwin barklow, Corvallis; Mrs. Roy Robison, Norway; and Mrs. J.C.Keller, Norway. A sister, Mrs. Dora Smead, lives at Bear Creek.
