Art was born on a farm in Bondin Township, the son of Frank & Emma Bergman Abramson. He grew up on the family farm and attended Wirock School. On June 8, 1938, he and Beulah Gudmunson were married at Iona, MN. Following their marriage they farmed near Westbrook until 1941, and then moved to a farm near Avoca. They farmed there until their retirement in 1970. They continued living on the farm until 1975, when they moved to Slayton. Art was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Iona where he had served as trustee and treasurer & also served as Elder at the Slayton Presbyterian Church. He was on the Badger Lake Cemetery Board and in the Men's Fellowship. Art also was on the FHA Board and had been the secretary of the country school board where they lived. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and visiting with his family and friends.

Art & Beulah were the parents of Ann, Joan, Lynn and Mark.

Art's siblings include Edna Evers, Herman, Alfred, Anna Carlson, Lillian Steffes, Minnie Ommen, Mabel Ames, Helen Olson and Carl.

MN Birth Index - "Frank Arthur Abramson" born 9/24/1908 in Murray County - "related name Bergman". It is my belief that "Art A" Abramson is actually Frank Arthur. He was probably called Art from a young age so most people did not even know his BIRTH name was Frank.

NOTE: I have a copy of the obituary which states "Arthur F Abramson".
