Always a responsible member of his family, Bennett, left high school to help his family financially. He was able eventually to resume his education and obtain a law degree.
He married Minnie Julia Love on August 3, 1929. Bennett and Julia were happily married for over 50 years and were the proud parents of 2 sons and loving grandparents of 3 grandsons.
Bennett had a wonderful, varied career in law and business and spent a number of years building homes in Lake Jackson, Texas. He was very active in the Baptist Church and Masonic organizations. He had a great many friends and was devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren, parents and his beloved sister, Clara. Bennett J. Roberts died at age 84 and is buried with his wife Julia and many members of his family at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
