Well known Crookston resident dies at local hospital last evening. Mrs. Jacob Andrist Sr., who has been ill for several days passed away at Bethesda Hospital last evening.
Liver trouble was the cause of her death which she underwent an operation a short time ago.

Barbara Anna Buser Andrist was born January 13, 1854 in Basel, Switzerland to John Boozer "Buser" and Anna Imthurn. She immigrated from Switzerland with her parents in 1865 settling first in Ohio.
Barbara married Jacob Andrist on August 21, 1871 in Angola, Indiana. The couple had 7 children, three in Indiana, one in Defiance, Ohio where the couple lived for a short time and three in Minnesota. By 1880 the family has moved to Dodge County, Minnesota. They would then move to Ada, Minnesota in 1881, and on to Crookston, Minnesota. She raised her family in Cookston where she passed away July 9, 1916.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Jacob and daughters Mrs. F.W. Spencer and Mrs. J.J. Sundet both of Crookston; sons, Jacob Jr. of Crookston, Charles of Sioux St. Marie, MI, Frank of Fargo, ND and Roy of Barrett, MN. Services from the residence 603 West sixth street at 2:00 PM and from the First Presbyterian Church at 2:30 PM. Dr. R.C. Bailey will take charge of the services. She was buried in Oakdale Cemetery with many of her family members near.
