CORINTH - Harold "Dennis" Allen, 76, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church and the Stateroom Committee. He was a former employee of the Wurlitzer Company in Corinth. He loved his family and friends, and enjoyed doing woodwork and his garden and yard.

Survivors include a son, Sam Allen and wife, Barbara, of Corinth; a daughter, Maria Allen Nelms and husband, Jeff, of Corinth; a granddaughter, Marisa Nelms of Corinth; a sister, Shirley Allen Horton and husband, Hoyt, of Corinth; two brothers, Grady Allen and wife, Melba, and Don Allen and wife, Agnes, all of Corinth; six brothers-in-law, Jake Hodum and wife, Helen, of Pontotoc, Eugene Hodum and wife, Margie, of Memphis, Travis Hodum and wife, Madeline, of Taswell, Tenn., and Wayne Hodum and wife, Katherine, Danny Hodum and wife, Cindy, and Milton Barker and wife, Nell, all of Corinth; seven sisters-in-law, Polly Peich of Burnsville, Mary Lee Jones and husband, Buddy, and Rachel Spencer and husband, Joe, all of Southaven, and Judy Davis and husband, Thomas, Daisy Allen, Elsie Allen and Lavada Allen, all of Corinth.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Violet Irene Hodum Allen; his parents, Willie Frank Allen and Willie Florence Latch Allen; parents-in-law, David Raymond Hodum and Mamie Irene Shaw Hodum; sisters, Helen Ruth Allen Barker, Mary Lou Allen Wilson, Earnestine Allen, Ailene Allen and Hazel Allen; brothers, Frank Allen, Raymond Allen, R.C. Allen, Marcus Allen and Bobby Joe Allen; a sister-in-law, Shirley King; and two brothers-in-law, Buddy Hodum and Billy Ray Hodum.

Visitation will be at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Bennett and Dr. Kara Blackard officiating. Magnolia Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Killough, Nathan Hodum, Billy Ray Hodum, Chris Allen, Pat Streetman, Charles Wilbanks, Newman Allen and David Allen. Honorary pallbearers will be Al Hager, Hoyt Horton, Jeff Nelms, John Garrett, Bobby Wilbanks, Bobby Marolt and Bob Latch.
