Grady Cleatus Allen, 88, was born December 16, 1929, to Will and Florence Allen. He died November 14, 2018, the last of their fourteen children: Mary Lou, Earnestine, Frank, Raymond, R.C., Hazel, Nelda Aileen, Dennis, Marcus, Don, Helen, Bobby Joe and Shirley. It would be short sighted not to include his beloved uncle, Clinton Latch, and his wife, Lucille, and their children, who were more brothers and sisters than cousins: Floyd, Bob, Preston, Joyce, Bill, Marlon, Jim, and their surviving daughter, Sarah Wilson (Dwight).

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Melba Allen. They had four daughters: Vickie Thompson (David) of Bartlett, TN; Joy Price of Rienzi, MS; Cheryl Smith (Jerry) of Kossuth, MS, and Pam Allen of Bartlett, TN. Their grandchildren are Brady Cunningham (Liberty), Allen Thompson, Bryan Thompson, Katelin Davis, Wesley Price, Andrew Price, Brandon Davis, Fran Price and Eric Price (Jennifer). He is also survived by his haircutting buddy, Wade Allen; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Allen and Mavis Stevens Corpus, two sons-in-law, Eddie Price and Tom Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews and neighbors that he held dear.

Mr. Allen sought to live his life according to the principles found in the Bible. He was a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church, and will be buried there near his brothers and sisters where he made his commitment to the Lord. He spoke of his baptism in Mr. A.J. Benjamin’s pond. He was most content sitting in the pasture with his cows on Sunday afternoons, grateful for what he had been blessed with and no aspirations of going too far from home. Just ask about the funny stories of his and Mom’s trip to England with Cheri and Jerry!

He was a Veteran of the Korean War, a proud member of H Company and will be buried with military honors. Visitation will be Friday, November 16, 2018 from 5:00 P M to 8:00 P M and Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 1:00 P M to 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. While he was no less proud of his granddaughter, Kate, his grandsons will serve as pallbearers to deliver him to his final resting place as he requested.

Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Grady Cleatus Allen.
