Boggs was born in a Clinton County log cabin on November 1, 1878 to Albert and Laura Hale Boggs. He married Jeanette F. Neligh who survives.
For thirty years, Judge Boggs was an elementary school principal in Connersville, Greenville, Ohio, Richmond and East Chicago.
He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa fraternity, the Brownsburg Christian Church and the St. Louis Philharmonic Symphony in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Boggs graduated from Indiana State Teachers College and received a Ph. B. and M. A. from the University of Chicago.
He was city supervisor and administrator in the school system of St. Louis. In addition he taught in the Harris Teachers College, the Stowe Teachers College and the Washington University of St. Louis.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; three sons; two brothers and 15 grandchildren.
Services are set for Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Goodwin Funeral Home with the Rev. Jester Yearick officiating. The remains will subsequently be placed in the Greenlawn Mausoleum.
