Obituary
George Mann was brn in Center county, Penn., in October, 1830, and died at his home in Allen, Kansas, March 28. 1917. He was married to Ann C. Taylor in 1854. To this union were born eight children, two dying in infancy; his wife died August 10, 1904 and his son Robert dying in Dodge City May 28, 1909. He united with the Baptist church in 1879. He came to Kansas in 1867 and lived near Valley Falls, and moved to Pottawatomie county in 1872, and came to Allen in 1892 and lived her until his death. He reunited with the Methodist Protestant church about 12 years ago. He leases to mourn his loss five children, one daughter Phoebe, four sons, Edward f Alma, Will north of Allen, Peter of near Admire, and Isaac of Allen. Funeral services were conducted at the M.P. church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. L.K. Layne. Interment was made in the Allen cemetery. Those attending the funeral from a distance were Edward Mann, of Alma, Mrs. Maud Shafer, of Quenemo, and O.H. Worley and family, of near Eskridge.
