Died 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 1991, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 79, a native of Albany and resident of Denham Springs. He was a retired electrician with Ethyl Corp. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Religious services at Hebron Baptist Church, Denham Springs, noon Saturday, conducted by Dr. Brad Curry and the Rev. Leon LeBlanc. Burial in church cemetery. Survived by wife, Adele Kaiser Wheat, Denham Springs; two daughters, Brenda Porteous, Jacksonville, Fla., and Christine LeBlanc, Lake; two sons, Jessie and Michael Wheat, both of Denham Springs; a son-in-law, Lloyd LeBlanc, Lake; two daughters-in-law, Connie and Benjalyn Wheat, both of Denham Springs; a sister, Mamie Noble, Baton Rouge; and seven grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, William and Annie Wheat; two sisters, Sarah Hano and May Rainey; and two brothers, Jessie and Martin Wheat. Pallbearers will be nephews. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.
