Ben Chappelear was born in Iowa on Nov. 28, 1888 and died in Carnegie March 14, 1942, after an illness of seventeen months. He came to Oklahoma with his parents about 45 years ago, owned a farm near Cloud Chief and has lived in Washita and Kiowa Counties since that time. His business interests were farming and cattle raising.
He is survived by his wife, the former Maud Coalson; two sisters, Mrs. Linnie Chappelear of Gotebo and Mrs. Hattie Deputy of Cloud Chief.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the First Christian Church in Cloud Chief, with burial in the Cloud Chief Cemetery.
