Mrs. Elizabeth Neeley died at her home on East Green Street on Monday evening. She has been an invalid for many years but became worse on Sunday and probably suffered a stroke of paralysis. Funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday morning in charge of Rev. J.G. Brengle. Interment at Freedom Cemetery.

The following obituary was read:
Martha Elizabeth Hanna was the daughter of James and Sarah Hanna and she was born on what is now known as the James Todd farm, one mile west of Freedom Church, June 18, 1833 and died Aug 4, aged 80 years 1 month 16 days. In 1850 she was united in marriage to David D. Neeley, who preceded her to the grave, April 19, 1908. Most of her life was spent in Brown Township with the exception of 20 years on a farm near Ladoga and few years in Crawfordsville and Linnsburg. At about age 14 she united with the Freedom Baptist Church. On locating in Waveland, she placed her membership here. During these years she lived a consistent Christian life. She is survived by an adopted daughter, Mary E. Procter, who is the daughter of her favorite younger sister and who has lived with her and faithfully cared for her declining years. An adopted son, Henry Davis died about 30 years ago. On these are lavished all the mother love of an unusually affectionate nature and the grief of the surviving daughter is all it could be for an own mother. She also leaves two brothers, George W. Hanna of Greencastle, and Thomas E. Hanna of Springfield, Mo; two nephews, Dr. Rupert Watson of Danville, Ill; and Paul Procter of Rocky Ford, Colo; two nieces, Mrs. Nelli Tustitson of Brick Chapel and Sara Hanna of Shelbyville.
