Mrs. Ruby Barham Hudson, 86, died Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at Moses Cone Hospital.
Mrs. Hudson's funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, at Liberty Wesleyan Church, with Rev. Danny Janes officiating. Burial will follow in the Glencoe United Methodist Church Cemetery.
A Rockingham County native, Mrs. Hudson was born on September 21, 1923, the daughter of the late Howard E. and Clara Rogers Barham. She attended Liberty Wesleyan Church, was retired from P. Lorillard Co. with thirty-one years service, and was an avid reader, especially enjoying mysteries.
Surviving are her children H. C. Hudson, Jr., and his wife, Louise, of Stokesdale, Minnie Lou Hudson of the home, Gale Lee, and her husband, Rick, of Oak Ridge, Bud Hudson and his wife, Sarah, of Kernersville, Sue Lemons of Summerfield, Roxie Williams and her husband, Jimmie, of Stokesdale, Kitty Strickland and her husband, Ray, of Stokesdale, and Pamela Tucker and her husband, Chuck, of Summerfield, a sister Leola Williams of Summerfield, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Clay Hudson, Sr., a daughter Celia K. Tuttle, and brothers H. E. Barham, Cleo Barham, and Roy Barham.
The family will receive friends following the committal service in the fellowship hall at Glencoe United Methodist Church and other times at her home.
