In 1931 he was united in marriage to Miss Vinita Matkin Reynolds, who survives, along with three children, Earl, 7, Wanda Fern, 5, Dorothy May, 2, along with one step-daughter, Martha Ann Reynolds, 9; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Turpin; four sisters, Mrs. Elmer Vickory of Macon, Mrs. Franklin Thrush, Mrs. Murle Williams and Mrs. Jim Badgerow, all of Peoria, Ill.; and four brothers, Lloyd and Frank of Macon, and James and John of Peoria; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The body lies in state at the Matkin home until Tuesday afternoon, when it will be brought to the Stephens & Goodding Funeral Home, and there services will be conducted at 2:00 o'clock by the Rev. Alfred Runyon, pastor of the Christian Church. Burial will be made in Woodlawn Cemetery." Macon Chronicle-Herald (Macon, Missouri), February 27, 1939
