Mrs Harris, wife of Mr John Harris, manager for Hon J. D. Ormond, died on Saturday. She leaves eight children.
Woodville Examiner, 18 Sep 1893
Death of Mrs John Harris It is with deep regret that we have to announce to-day the death of Mrs John Harris which took place on Saturday evening. Mrs Harris had been ill for about three weeks and all was done that could be done for her. On Saturday morning it was believed she had taken a turn for the better but in the afternoon she grew worse and died in the evening. The sad event cast a gloom over the district, Mr and Mrs Harris having both been so widely known and universally esteemed. Mrs Harris was the only daughter of the late J. McDonald and was, with her husband, among the early residents of the district. She leaves a family of eight to whom the sad loss will be irreparable. Mrs Harris was 40 years of age at the time of her death. The deep sympathy of all is with the bereaved husband and family in the hour of their affliction. The funeral took place to-day.
