W. W. Davis Is Laid to Rest at Barclay July 11

W. W. Davis, born in Houston, Mississippi, on March 2, 1860, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Claude Tommy near Cameron, on Wednesday, July 10. Mr. Davis had been in ill health for the past two years.

Funeral services were held from the Barclay Baptist church on Thursday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. T. H. Vaughn, pastor of the First Baptist church of Rosebud, officiating.
Interment was in the Barclay cemetery.
Pallbearers were Curtis Matthewson, Ben Davis, Jack Davis, Clarence Davis, Walter Roper, and Edgar White.
Surviving the deceased are five sons, Sam, Reuben, and Willie, of Rosebud, Jesse of Lott and George of Cameron, and four daughters, Mrs. Claude Tommy of Cameron, Miss Lela Davis of Riesel, Mrs. Ophelia Segler of McCamey, Texas.
The deceased had been a citizen of this section since young manhood, having settled here when he came from Mississippi. He had made his home in Falls, Milam and Williamson counties, where he has many friends. He was making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Claude Tommy, of Cameron, at the time of his death.
