Henry West Meenach, 88, long-time resident of Urbana, died early Tuesday afternoon following an illness of only two days, in the home of his son, Earl Meenach, 1210 West Clark Street, Urbana, where he had lived the past 12 years. Death was caused by a compication of diseases incident to old age.

He was born July 4, 1846, in Valley, Kentucky, the son of Alex A and Elizabeth Meenach, and was married on Dec 3, 1871, to Nettie Alice Ruggles, who preceded him in death in 1925. They came to Urbana to make their home in 1901, where Mr. Meenach was employed by the Big Four Railroad until his retirement several years ago.

Mr. Meenach was a veteran of the Civil War, having served several years as a private in Company C of the 54th Kentucky Infantry. Surviving are three sons and one daughter, Earl of Urbana, Elmer of Champiagn, Emery of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Pearl Stearns of Rockwell City, Iowa.

Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon from the Renner Funeral Home in Urbana, with Rev. Paul Burt, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church, in charge. Burial will be in Roselawn.
