JAMES W PARSONS
The death of James W. Parsons which occurred last Saturday night, at his residence on the ranch of J. H. Henry, eight miles south of Ukiah, was followed by his burial on Sunday at the Hopland Cemetery. He had been sick but a week, the sickness, it is believed, having been superinduced by eating green fruit. He was a nephew of T.S. and William Parsons, and in the neighborhood where he had lived since April, 1888, he we recognized as an upright and worthy young citizen and his loss is deeply deplored. He was born in Monroe County, Missouri, November 13, 1865, married in January 1888, and in April following he and his wife came to California. His introduction to this state was not a pleasant one, as both husband and wife very nearly lost their lives at Santa Rosa through asphyxiation. The young wife is overwhelmed with sorrow.
